Chapter 1: Managing extensions
This chapter will cover how to install and manage commercial extensions in MageParts CEM (Commercial Extension Manager) in Magento.
The CEM is accessible from the top menu System → Magento Connect → Commercial Extension Manager.
1.1Profile email address
The first time you access the CEM you will be required to enter your email address before you can proceed to install any extensions. Be sure to use a valid email address as it will be used to recover lost license and CEM keys in the future.
If you are reinstalling CEM you will have to enter the same email address as you used on the previous installation in order to recover lost license keys and restore your CEM keys. If you are unsure which email address you assigned at your previous installation you will have to contact your retailer(s) for assistance.
If you entered the wrong email address by accident you can change it in the system configuration. See Chapter 3 for more information.

You should have recieved an email containing license information from the company where you purchased the extension. Use that information to fill out the installation form accordingly.
After you have completed the form, click the
button to install the extension.
The installation process can take anywhere between a few seconds and a few minutes depending on the size of the extension.
When the installation process has completed you will be prompted with a message either confirming the success of the installation or providing you with a error report in case the installation failed.
Always contact your retailer for assistance if you have problems installing and updating extensions. MageParts is not responsible for - and will not support any problems you may experience with - third party extensions.
1.4Updating extensions
Installed extensions are being automatically updated by default. You can change this behaviour for a specific extension at any time if you wish to update it manually by selecting the No option in the Update Automatically dropdown.
To manually update an extension you can either use the
button on the extensions option page to update that specific extension, or the
button on the overview page to update all of the installed extensions at once.
1.5Rollbacks
Rollbacks are used to revert an extension to a previously installed version. To perform a rollback on an extension, open the extension from the overview page and click the
button.
If you wish to install a specific version of an extension you will have to change the Package Identifier manually and then click on the
button. Lists of available extension versions should be available on your retailers website.
2.1Overview
Access the license management area by clicking the
button on the overview page.
Button Action
Go back to the list of extensions
Submit information - The two tabs on the left hand side of the screen are used to recover lost CEM keys and lost license keys respectively.
- The main area contains the form used to request lost CEM keys and license keys.
CEM keys are created when you connect to a new service for the first time. Once a CEM key has been created it is used as an identifier, making it possible for you to update, rollback and reinstall extensions. When you install a new extension for the first time the CEM key will be tied to the provided license key. In order to recover lost license keys you will need to recover the CEM keys first.
CEM keys are also bound to your domain name (like http://www.mydomain.com/). If you change your domain name you will need to contact your retailer(s) so that they can make the proper adjustments. Until the adjustments have been made you will not be able to reinstall, update or rollback the installed extensions.
License keys are used to install and identifiy extensions.
2.2Recover lost CEM keys
Click the Lost CEM key tab and enter your retailers Service URL. The Service Url should be available on the retailers website. If not, please contact you retailer for assistance.
Next click the
button and wait until you are prompted with a message. If all went well the CEM key should have been sent the inbox of the email address you registered with the CEM.
Please note that you need to recover the CEM key from each of the services where you have purchased extensions.
Copy the CEM key from the email and paste it in the corresponding field.
Click the
button and wait while the CEM key and all of the extensions which you have purchased from that service are being installed.
2.3Recover lost license keys
Click the Lost License Key tab and enter your retailers Service URL. The Service Url should be available on the retailers website. If not, please contact you retailer for assistance.
Next enter the extensions Module Identifier, which should also be available on your retailers website.
Then click the
button and wait until you are prompted with a message. If all went well your license key should have been sent to the inbox of the email address you registered with the CEM.
Now you can manually install the extension as usual. See Chapter 1.2 for installation instructions.
