Restrict Shipping Methods - User Guide

This chapter will cover how to use the Restrict Shipping Methods extension in Magento.
The extension is accessible from the top menu System → MageParts → Shipping Method Rules.
1.1Overview
Access the extension through the top menu: System → MageParts → Shipping Method Rules. Here you will find a list of all your restriction rules. By default this list is empty as no rules exist yet.
- Click on the
button to create a new rule. - Click on any of the rules in the list to open and edit it.
Once you click on the
button or click on a rule in the list the rule will be opened for editing.
1.2Creating / modifying rules
Click on the
button above the list of existing rules(System → MageParts → Shipping Method Rules). Your new rule will now be created, and opened for editing.
- Rule Title. This setting is solely used for keeping track of your rules, if you for example have 10 rules or more you will need some way of keeping track of which rule is which. You can enter whatever value you wish here.
- Carriers. Select the carrier(s) (shipping methods) that you wish to restrict access to.
- Allowed Customer Groups. Select the customer group(s) which should be able to access the carrier(s) selected in the Carriers setting.
- Store View. Select the store view(s) where this rule should be applied. Please note that this option is only available if you have more than one (1) store view.
- Status. Whether or not the rule is enabled.
Click on the
button when you are done filling out the settings to save the rule.
You don't need to refresh your cache for the rule to take affect, it will be applied immediately after it has been saved.
